It’s been a busy week for the ladies.
The latest pair of Barbie bandits were sent to jail. A third grade girl was reprimanded for standing on her seat at school, prompting a commando-style plot to exact some kind of bloody revenge on the offending teacher. Randi Rhodes displayed more un-ladylike vocabulary, and now supermodel Naomi Campbell had another semi-violent hissy fit resulting in yet another arrest.
We know girls just wanna have fun, but when is enough enough?
It must be nice going through life knowing if you do something bad and get busted, when punishment is being considered, leniency is expected because “She’s just a girl.”
We had that teenaged girl who started a fight with her bus driver. At first, she admitted she had done wrong, but now that she’s the only person in the incident with charges pending; she’s whining that she’s the only one facing the judge. Remember, she started the fight.
Today’s young girls are increasingly violent, show little remorse for their wrongdoing, and seem quite amazed when they face some kind of ramification for their actions. As women strive for greater equality, maybe they should get it.
Personally, I don’t know why young girls upon turning 18 aren’t required to sign up for Selective Service as are the boys. I’ll be willing to bet if you’d ask young teenaged girls why not, the majority of their answers would be “Because we’re girls.” It may be that initial dose of entitlement/special treatment that has given them their license to do whatever they want, good or bad.
